The annual conference of the Hungarian Bioinformatics Society (MABIT) was held on November 8, 2024, in the Grand Hall of the HUN-REN Centre for Natural Sciences. At the event, our institute's research fellow, Dániel Gerber, delivered a presentation titled: Computational Challenges and Applications in Archaeogenomics.

In his talk, he introduced the technical background of our institute's newly implemented identity-by-descent (IBD) method, which enables the discovery of previously undetectable genetic relationship networks. The presentation sparked significant interest among the audience.
