Molecular biologist Chen Kozulin will begin work as a member of the MTA-RCH Momentum Bioarchaeolgy Research Group in January 2026, after successfully applying for the Momentum MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowship Programme. Bringing expertise with cutting-edge molecular biology technologies and biomedical industry experience, Chen’s next challenge will venture into the realm of complex bioinformatic analyses.

The Momentum Bioarchaeology Project, which has been running since 2023, takes an interdisciplinary approach to studying the multiethnic and multicultural population of the north-eastern region of Pannonia in the Roman era. In addition to the biological composition and dynamics of the population, our research group also analyses the living conditions and health of the inhabitants of different types of settlements.

Chen Kozulin's independent postdoctoral project now complements this research with epigenetic studies. These investigations are suitable for detecting rapid, environment-driven adaptations and can thus contribute valuable new insights to the results of our project.
